Overpriced for what it is, but its not a bad shampoo. However, it is not moisturizing, in fact it left my hair deeply cleansed and "squeaky" clean. I actually rotate it in once a week as a deep cleaner when I don't want to go as far as a clarifying shampoo.Who knew there were so many things in haircare products that aren’t good for you? Apparently this Canadian-based eco-friendly beauty company has launched a line of beauty and hair products that ban over 40 items found in these products including sulfates, paraben, salt, and gluten. Gluten? The Hydramend shampoo I tried is pretty good and since I do treat my hair with color, I need something on the restorative side. It did a decent job of making the hair feel less crispy and chemically treated after a few uses, and the smell wasn’t bad. Some post-coloring shampoos smell like a chemical plant on fire. The down side, and why a star off for me is that this product is not cheap. Quite frankly, the results were good, but not sooo superior for the cost. Just my opinion. Otherwise, it’s a very good product with great intentions, and I encourage the industry to make more products with a conscience like these people have.As I was using this shampoo, SNOBGIRLS HYDRAMEND Prowash, in the shower, I was concerned. It felt like it dried out my hair, making it stripped and squeaky-clean like in the old days, before shampoos were improved. I was not looking forward to the results!After I conditioned and dried my hair, it did have more tangles than usual. However, after it was styled, it looked better than ever. So, I had to reconsider my first impression of this shampoo.It is sulfate and paraben free. That is why I was interested in this shampoo initially. It did not add any shine to my hair, although it is advertised that way.I have naturally wavy hair that is always prone to dryness. I find it's a bit easier to disguise the dryness when I style it wavy. Whenever I straighten it, though, I'm never happy with how dry and sad it looks.I have had really good success with several Snobgirls products, so I'm a big fan of the brand. I was excited to try this shampoo. And I'm happy to report that I was NOT disappointed! I'm so pleased with how soft, shiny and moisturized my hair was after I used this shampoo, straightened it and added in a few curls. This result is not typical for me with my usual products, so I definitely feel like the shampoo made a big difference.Snobgirls does it again! This shampoo was a winner for me, for sure. Highly recommend!I expect my shampoo to cleanse and my conditioner to provide the moisture. So, I did not have high hopes for this shampoo. I was so wrong! This shampoo did not immediately change my mind but later that day, I noticed that my hair felt amazing. It just felt healthy and the only thing that I changed was the shampoo.If your hair is thin, brittle, excessively dry, and falling out every time you brush it, you really should give this shampoo a try!!Just ok. I didn’t find it all that much more moisturizerizing than other drug store brands.
